Sandie Charlton And John Moilanen/Charlton Glassworks
Sandie Charlton with her sons John and Chad have revived the ancient art of combining glass and metal. Together their company Charlton Glassworks, Inc, captures the richness and splendor of glass fine art pieces. Their works combine the beautiful with the functional, the decorative with the practical.
The individually hand-cut copper pieces are fused between layers of glass to form functional pieces of art. The 1500-degree kiln turns the copper into unique, fiery images. The result of the 18-hour heating and cooling cycle is a durable, yet beautiful piece of glass art.
Sandie, John, and Chad work in their studio in the peaceful town of Sedro Woolley, Washington.
