Gallery8010 Part of Outdoor Market for Fort Wayne Woman Magazine Birthday Event

Posted Friday September 15, 2006

Fort Wayne Woman Magazine celebrated its “birthday” with another “Woman’s Night Out” on Sept 14th — this time at the Fort Wayne Botanical Conservatory.

The sellout event included a signature drink, birthday cake, appetizers, and live entertainment for over 1,000 women! Guests also received a goodie bag filled with many lovely items from local businesses and sponsors.

Gallery8010 was part of the Outdoor Market, where guests enjoyed browsing and buying from a wonderful selection of offerings from local boutiques, galleries and shops offering unique artwork, clothing, fashion accessories, home decor and more. The evening was perfect for an outdoor venue.

Posted Friday September 15, 2006

Gallery8010 recently held an open house reception, featuring three artists — Amy Odom, The Glass Café, Chicago, IL: Suzi Emley, Collem Designs, Fort Wayne, IN; and Gail Plaster, Gail’s Nature Photography, Iron River, WI.

Gallery visitors had an opportunity to meet personally with the artists, browse with works of other artists, and enjoy wine and hors ‘doeuvres from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2006.

“We’re very pleased with the growing number of artists we’re featuring,” said Donna Emley, co-owner of gallery8010. “This open house reception was a first of hopefully more to come, and was a wonderful opportunity to invite people to spend a summer evening here visiting with three of the artists and learning more about their beautiful pieces and what inspires them.”

Other gallery8010 artists were also on display including watercolors and acrylics by Terry Pulley; handpainted tableware and serveware by Berryware; stretched canvas quotable art by Maggie Lindley; antique button jewelry by My Mothers Buttons; glass vessels by Cal Breed; textile wall art by Holly Berry; metal sculptures and lamps by Twisted Sisters, and others.

National TV Personality Linda Ellerbee presented with Glass Café Candy Pendant at "Tapestry: A Day for Women" Scholarship Fundraiser

Posted Saturday May 13, 2006

Gallery8010 was an event sponsor for “Tapestry: A Day for Women”, an event designed to help raise scholarship funds for women interested in attending Indiana-University/Purdue University, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Nearly 700 women attended the all-day event, which included keynote speaker Linda Ellerbee, breakout sessions, and a boutique and trade show venue.

“We’ve been a proud sponsor of Tapestry for the past three years,” said Donna Emley, co-owner of gallery8010. “When we found out Linda Ellerbee was going to be the keynote speaker, we asked if we could make a special presentation to her at the sponsorship reception to thank her for serving as a role model and inspiration for so many women.”

Ellerbee, author, TV personality, breast cancer survivor, and creator of Nick News, was presented with a Pink Candy Pendant from Emley to honor her as a pioneer, role model, and survivor. The exquisite glass pendant was created by The Glass Café, one of many fine artists featured at gallery8010.

Other gallery8010 artists were also on display in the boutique area of Tapestry during the shopping hours, including jewelry, purses, and pillows by Collem Designs; handpainted tableware and serveware by Berryware: stretched canvas quotable art by Maggie Lindley; antique button jewelry by My Mothers Buttons; handmade shell jewelry by Amati; textile wall art by Holly Berry; and others. The lucky raffle winner that day also used their gallery8010 gift certificate to make a purchase on the spot — a Red Candy Swirl Ring from The Glass Café !
